The furoshiki tradition

Our fabric gift wraps are inspired by the Japanese tradition of Furoshiki. The versatile furoshiki is used to wrap a variety of items, including clothes, bento boxes, goods - and gifts. The use of furoshikis in Japan declined alongside the rise of the plastic shopping bag, although they are now coming back into use due to environmental concerns.

Eco-friendly

As a re-usable item, fabric wraps are significantly more environmentally friendly than single use paper gift wrap

Quick & easy

Fabric wraps are considerably quicker and easier to use than paper and sticky tape. Fabric is great for wrapping awkward shapes such as balls, and unlike paper it doesn’t tear.

Make it your own

Fabric wrapped gifts are easy to embellish - offering lots of opportunity to be creative. In our view, a fabric wrapped gift looks different and special.

Save money

Although you have to make an initial investment to buy the wraps, in the long term fabric wraps save money. The wrap can also become part of the gift.

Our fabrics and thread

We only use fabrics that are responsibly sourced. Most of our fabrics are reclaimed and any new fabrics we use are either organic cotton or linen. The provenance of our fabrics depends on the range and varies from organic cotton to vintage and reclaimed fabric.

All our wraps are roll hemmed with Scanfil organic thread which is produced in Holland from responsibly sourced organic cotton. The thread is spun from a blend of the longest fibres available, making it both soft and strong.
