Recycled Sari - Double Sided

Medium (50cm)

We are excited to introduce our range of double-sided sari furoshiki. We have partnered with India-based Madras Fuse to bring you these beautiful, affordable and sustainable gift wraps.

The wraps are hand stitched from reclaimed sari fabric in two contrasting patterns. Their double-sided design makes them both robust and versatile, with the option of using either pattern on the outside of your gift. The underside fabric shows up on the knot petals, adding an extra decorative twist to your fabric wrapping.

Madras Fuse is a social initiative set up by NGO Oasis India to help women from vulnerable communities in Chennai. The women are trained in needlework and given fair wages and working conditions. The aim of Madras Fuse is to empower the women to become agents of change and role models for their community. The initiative also adheres to sustainable practices, such as using reclaimed sari fabric for their products.

The sari wraps are suitable for any gifting event, although they work particularly well for festive occasions such as Diwali, Christmas or Chinese New Year.

Each wrap comes with a small instruction booklet which can be passed on with the gift.

Please note: as these wraps are sustainably made from recycled sari fabric, there may be small defects and imperfections. These will not show when the furoshiki is wrapped around a gift.

Care advice: due to the recycled nature of the sari fabric, it is not always easy to identify fabric type. We recommend washing your sari wraps on a delicate cycle and ironing on a synthetics setting. With more richly decorated fabrics, place a cotton tea towel over the wrap before ironing.
